Author: Daniel Altman

The teacher shortage in Indiana has made news and the state superintendent of Indiana, Glenda Ritz, has urged the state to trust their teachers.  Ritz was quoted saying, "we have great teachers everywhere…just trust them to do their jobs."

The superintendent of Indiana is clearly a champion for her teachers, as she recently announced the members to serve on the Blue Ribbon Commission on the Recruitment and Retention of Excellent Educators. http://www.doe.in.gov/news/superintendent-public-instruction-glenda-ritz-announces-members-blue-ribbon-commission. In line with this, it has been an important aim of our research to learn more about the types of collaborations that are important and how those function to recruit and retain quality, flourishing teachers and administrators.
