Uganda Project

One of the projects supported in part by the Ford Family Program has reached an exciting milestone. Congratulations to Mary Bales, Ilaria Schnyder von Wartensee, and Danice Brown on completion of their Baseline Report Pilot Study 2015 entitled "Collaborative Research Design and Evaluation of a Human-Centered Ugandan Education Intervention". Their research focuses on developing the role of teachers' and head teachers' as educators and furthermore emphasizing the importance of relationships in the process of teaching.

Since July, the Luigi Giussani Institute for Higher Education has been conducting an intervention on the seven schools evaluated in the pilot study, which will continue for three years. This will be followed by a final evaluation of student outcomes. We look forward to learning from their findings and gaining a better understanding of strategies to improve the quality of education in Uganda.
